Shelly Green – serves as Co-Executive Director of Okmulgee-Okfuskee County Youth Services, Inc., bringing nearly three decades of nonprofit experience to her leadership role. She has dedicated 22 years to the agency in multiple capacities, including Youth Care Worker, Administrative Assistant, School Outreach Coordinator, and now Co-Executive Director. Her comprehensive understanding of direct service, school-based prevention programming, and organizational operations provides her with a well-rounded and strategic perspective in guiding the agency’s mission.

In addition to her tenure with Okmulgee-Okfuskee County Youth Services, Shelly has seven years of experience with another nonprofit organization, further strengthening her expertise in youth services and community-based programming.

Shelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Gerontology, equipping her with a strong foundation in human development, family systems, and lifespan services. Having lived and worked in Okmulgee County for over 40 years, she is deeply committed to the well-being of local youth and families and is passionate about strengthening the community she calls home.

Mrs. Portia Butler – serves as Co-Executive Director of Okmulgee-Okfuskee County Youth Services, Inc. Portia has been with OOCYS for over 25 years. A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. She is the Outreach Supervisor, a Successful Futures Coordinator, and a Community Education Coordinator. Portia is also a certified In-Step/1-Eighty Coordinator. She also serves as one of the Corporate Compliance Officers for the agency.

Rose Gouthier – serves as the receptionist for the Okmulgee location.  She graduated from Langston University with a degree in Psychology.  She had been previously employed with the Okmulgee-Okfuskee County Youth Services, Inc. for 16 years as Oklahoma Child Abuse Prevention Specialist. She retired in 2018. Rose states “I’m excited to be back working with this wonderful group of people.”

Ms. Vickie Jones – Community Education outreach Coordinator

Ms. Mollye Mabrey – Community Education outreach Coordinator and 1-Eighty Coordinator, Mollye Mabrey was born and raised in Okmulgee, Ok. Mollye graduated from Okmulgee High in 1990 and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development from the University of Central Oklahoma. She enjoys spending time with her three sons. Mollye is a Community Education Coordinator, implementing the curriculums Character Counts, Steps to Respect, Botvin Life Skills, and Common Sense (Digital Citizenship). Mollye is also a 1-Eighty (In Step) Coordinator, this program is a diversion program that is designed to help youthful offenders make better life choices.

Mrs. Amanda Thomas – is the Successful Futures Youth Engagement Program Coordinator. As a graduate from the University of Tulsa, Amanda Thomas has over 20 years of experience working with children and families in numerous capacities. She is currently serving the Okmulgee and Okfuskee County area for the new Successful Futures Program with focus on 3rd through 8th graders. Utilizing many different curriculums, she can tailor to the individual needs of the schools and youth she engages with. Amanda can provide services in either group or individual settings.

Ms. Jawanna Wheeler – Community Education Coordinator, Ms. Wheeler has worked in the social services field since graduating from East Central University in the mid-1990s. Her experience has primarily been working with children and families. As a Community Education Coordinator, Ms. Wheeler works in Okfuskee County Schools and teaches Protective Parenting in both Okfuskee and Okmulgee County.

Ms. Karla James – LPC-Candidate, Behavioral Health Therapist. Her education includes a master’s degree in counseling, student Personnel, and bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University. She also holds certifications as a Elementary Principal and School Counselor. A bachelor’s degree and she taught for 12 years as an elementary teacher while pursuing a master’s degree. Transitioned into school counseling, where she served for 9 years, then completed the certification as an elementary school principal. In 2012, she accepted a position at ICTC as Curriculum Specialist, where she served for 2 years before taking a position as Advisor/Recruiter in 2014. In 2020, she accepted the position of Student Services Coordinator/Counselor at Green Country Technology Center. In 2022 Karla began her journey with Okmulgee/Okfuskee County Youth Services as an LPC Candidate.

Ms. Kelly Furer – Community Education Coordinator, with 34 years of experience in public education, is excited to embark on a new chapter serving students with Bot-vin LifeSkills, Character Education and Steps to Respect in Okfuskee County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. Kelly states that education is a family affair for us – my husband, daughter, and son are all currently working for Dewar Public School. Educating and mentoring students is a core value in our family, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue making a positive impact in our community.
